Crusaders Basketball Academy

Kent Crusaders Basketball Academy

The Basketball Academy provides a professional, structured programme of coaching, strength and conditioning, sport science and video analysis to allow players to develop at an elite level.  There is a heavy emphasis on skill development and teaching players how to read the game.  Over two years we aim to teach our athletes how to play and understand a variety of systems that will allow them to succeed wherever they go after the Academy—whether that is Europe, America or the UK.

Performance Programme

The weekly programme provides a variety of activities, balanced with the players’ academic commitments.  Players will have training sessions every day, with up to 3 sessions some days.  Additionally there will be 3 opportunities to gain coaching and officiating qualifications.  A typical week includes:

'During my time at the Academy I was able to understand where I was as a player and what I needed to do to get to the next level.  I developed my Basketball skills and knowledge which prepared me for my future.’

Sam Lane ‘Castanea Basket Serie C 2019-20

'During my time at the academy I have developed from an athlete to a high level basketball player.  The environment at Northfleet has enabled me to learn how to read the game and compete at an elite level’

Dan Akin  ‘University of Maryland Baltimore County, NCAA D1 & Great Britain u20
