Did you know there are virtual on-line work experience opportunities on offer for sixth form students? Work experience is a great way to quantify your skills and prove your enthusiasm and dedication to a particular field of work. Your CV will look more impressive, and you’ll become more employable. Work experience could also give you the ability to expand your network of contacts within an industry, meaning you could gain positive references to use for future jobs, and other roles might become more obtainable. Live Apprenticeship information event - Thursday 4th February at 4.00pm
On Thursday 4 February, The Education People's Apprentice Kent team will be hosting an information evening for young people and their parents/carers from 4pm to 8pm. The purpose of the event is to provide key information about apprenticeships and how to search and apply for apprenticeship vacancies. The event will consist of a series of live webinars hosted by employers and apprenticeship training providers. Alongside these live webinars we will have information pages on the different apprenticeship sectors with videos and resources to help you explore the apprenticeship options available to you. Health care professional virtual work experience opportunities
If you have career aspirations to be a doctor, nurse or allied health professional then please keep reading.....
KELSI is offering Health Care work experience programmes, spread across two weeks and includes roughly 10 hours of activity, which you can fit around other responsibilities that you have. There are live webinars as well, which you can catch up with if you can’t make the live times.
The medicine virtual work experience programme will run from Monday 8 February to Friday 19 February and the nursing and allied health professions virtual work experience programme will run from Monday 15 February to Friday 26 February.

Around two-thirds of eligible voters in Kent DID NOT VOTE in the last local elections!
This is your chance to get involved in local politics and help drive up voting rates, which would look fantastic on your CV!
The programme run by I HAVE A VOICE is called Local Matters and has three phases. ENGAGE > EDUCATE > EMPOWER. For each of the phases you’ll be provided with resources and invited to live online workshops to design strategies to drive up voting rates in the forthcoming May elections.

Nuffield Research Placement Programme
The Nuffield Research Placement programme provides engaging, hands-on research projects, where Year 12 students have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the work of a host organisation through a well-supervised but independent research collaboration relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths (or a combination!).
